Six weeks after a 9-0 exhibition, Biggby Black went into Suburban Ice and scored in every period against HB Detroit Gold, rated 89.43 on MHR. Maddie G. (#44) opened the scoring on the power play, Julia C. (#21) made it 2-1 in the second, and Maddie added a second power play goal at 4:47 of the third for a 3-1 lead with Violet G., Claire S., Emma J. and Claire L. all picking up helpers across the night. HB's #4 scored twice in 12 seconds to tie it, and the final was 3-3. We outscored them in power play goals 2-0 and earned a point against a team that beat us by nine in September. HB is widely regarded as the top Tier 2 team in the state, and we had them down 3-1 in the third. Hold that third-period lead and it is a win, but the way this team showed up is the real story.
HB Detroit Gold MHR rating. Ours: 84.50. Tougher than us.
HB #4 scored twice in 12 seconds (3:04 and 2:52 left) to level it.
